Marlow Cannon was born October 30, 1976. He began practicing Martial Arts at the
age of tender age of 11, but at the age of 19 Jiu-Jitsu and Jeet Kune do
crossed his way. It has been his life long passion.
At the beginning he was part of Jelo Jeet
kune Do and Jui Jitsu Team, under the instruction of Elvis Jelo (South Africa)who
was under Instructor Andrew Jorgenson (Denmark), where he got his blue belt. In
1993 he discovered the art of Capoeira while walking on a beach, where he met
his first Capoeira instructor Nuno
He
moved to London, England in 2001 looking for new beginnings through a once
again Jiu-Jitsu and Capoeira crossed his
path, a few days later he joined the Brazillian Jiu-Jitsu school Leão Teixeira.
Soon thereafter he met Marcelo Oliveira Dos
Santos (Mestre’ Guimba) .
In December 2003 Marcelo Oliveira Dos
Santos (more commonly known as Mestre ‘Guimba’) of the Capoeira group Danca da Liberdade awarded the first Instructor belt to him. He
still continues today training in the disciplines of Capoeira and Brazillian
Jui Jitsu.
